About the Creators
Amy MacConnell has dedicated her life to improving the lives of children through the methods of yoga, meditation, breath work and insightful play. A decade ago, she left her company to begin the path of yoga for herself. She didn’t know it then, but yoga would slowly begin working its magic in her family’s life. The peace, the calm and the insightfulness became more valuable than anything she had known before. This compelled her to deliver the gift of yoga to others- especially children. She has over 500 hours of yoga teacher training, is certified in Children’s yoga and teaches yoga and meditation to schools throughout Southern California. Her companies, Smiling Monkey Yoga and Kids Club Yoga, also cater to children with ADHD and special needs, a cause Amy feels passionate about. Yoga can change the way we think about ourselves and, therefore, the way we think about this world. Turasa is bringing children the best.
Nicole Rijelle Thompson is dangerously creative. She’s a fitness guru and model, director, entrepreneur, author and voice for women. She’s passionate about the health and welfare of children and has sat on the board for children’s charities, such as LNFWC.org. Her early experience with meditation came natural at age ten. Every night she would exercise and meditate, even though it was a mystery as to how it found her… or was it 😉 Her mission in life is to create products that are vibrant teaching tools for this world’s little and tall humans. Turasa was born from the heart: it’s silly, it’s deep and it’s intention is to warm your family’s home. The idea is to help you teach your children spiritual values through play- such as gratitude and kindness- while having fun. Her hope is that Turasa inspires the trend of providing more thought-provoking, age-appropriate tools for children and their families. Turasa is more than a game, it’s a movement.
